My Experience Receiving and Registering the Google AdSense Address Verification PIN After Reaching $10

When your Google AdSense earnings exceed $10, Google mails a physical PIN to verify your payment address. Many beginners are curious about how long this step takes and how important the verification process actually is. In this post, I’m sharing my personal experience receiving the PIN in Korea, why my AdSense setup became unusually complicated, and what I learned while preparing my new Blogger site for proper monetization.

My Experience Receiving and Registering the Google AdSense Address Verification PIN

1. Background: I Already Had Two Blogger Sites Before This One

This new Blogger project isn’t actually my first.

I originally created two casual personal blogs, where I posted simple daily notes without any SEO strategy.

Both blogs were approved for AdSense in 2020 and 2021—and honestly, even that approval process felt difficult at the time.

However, I accidentally made things much more complicated:

  • I originally had one AdSense approval,
  • but I changed my Blogger URL without realizing the consequences,
  • the previously approved address became invalid,
  • so I had to apply again and ended up with two separate approvals (old + new).

That’s when I finally understood:
šŸ‘‰ AdSense approval is tied to the URL.

This is also why, for my current blog, I connected a custom domain first and applied for AdSense only after verifying proper indexing.

2. Reaching $10 Again After Three Years

After more than three years, my Adsense finally passed the $10 threshold in 2023.

Google mailed the address verification PIN to Korea.

It’s a little embarrassing to admit, but because I wasn’t actively running the blog, the total earnings after five years are still only $13.

That’s one of the reasons why I’m now taking AdSense seriously with my current Blogger project.

3. How Long the PIN Took to Arrive in Korea

For me:

  • Google sent the PIN on November 7,
  • and I received it within approximately 15 days.

Delivery times vary, but this was faster than I expected for standard international mail.

Once I received the letter, I simply logged into AdSense and entered the 6-digit PIN.
Verification was completed immediately.

4. Preparing My New Blogger Site for Proper AdSense Approval

My new blog is not approved for AdSense yet.
I plan to apply only after Search Console shows:

  • steady crawling
  • stable coverage
  • at least 10+ indexed URLs

My past mistakes taught me that applying too early—or with an unindexed site—only slows down the entire approval process.

This time, I’m doing everything intentionally:

  • custom domain connected early
  • Search Console verified
  • indexing issues fixed
  • content published with SEO structure
  • templates updated
  • GTM re-added after template changes
  • responsive theme applied

This approach should give me a much cleaner approval experience compared to my older blogs.

5. Notes and Things to Keep in Mind

  • AdSense approval is URL-based, so changing your blog address after approval will require re-applying.
  • Blogger template previews often show premium layouts; free versions have limited features—but still better than default Google themes.
  • After applying a free template, GTM code is removed, so it must be manually re-inserted in HTML.
  • Address verification mail usually arrives within 2–4 weeks in Korea, though it can vary.
  • My new blog is not yet approved; I’m waiting until indexing improves before submitting the application.
