How to Install a Free Blogger Template (Step-by-Step Guide for Google Blogger Users)
If you're running a Google Blogger site and want a clean, modern, and SEO-optimized layout without spending money, you can apply a free Blogger template in just a few minutes.
This guide shows how to download a free template, upload it through Theme → Restore, and apply it to your blog.
This is one of the easiest ways to instantly upgrade your blog design while you work toward growing your AdSense revenue.
1. Search for High-Quality Free Blogger Templates
Search Google for “google blogger free templates” and check trusted template sites.
Many offer clean, responsive designs that work well with SEO.
2. Download Your Favorite Template
Open the template page → click Download → save the ZIP file on your computer.
3. Extract the ZIP File and Locate the XML File
Inside the extracted folder, look for the main theme file: xxx_template_name.xml
This XML file is what you will upload to Blogger.
4. Go to Blogger → Theme
Open your Blogger dashboard and move to:
Theme → Customize (three-dot menu) → Restore
This is where custom templates are uploaded.
5. Upload the XML Template File
Click Restore → Upload, then choose the XML file you extracted earlier.
Blogger will automatically replace your old theme with the new one.
6. Confirm the New Template Is Applied
Once uploaded, open your blog to confirm the new layout has been applied.
Your homepage should now display the new template design.
