⭐ How to Change the Logo in Your Free Blogger Template (Top & Footer Logo Update Guide)
If you’ve installed a free Blogger template, one of the first things you should customize is your blog logo.
Most free templates come with a default brand logo, and replacing it with your own instantly improves professionalism and branding — which also helps with SEO and AdSense approval.
This guide shows you how to replace both the header (top) logo and the footer (bottom) logo using the Blogger Layout panel.
1. Check Your Current Blog Logo (Before Editing)
Before making changes, visit your blog and check the top logo and footer logo areas.
Most free templates display default placeholder branding that you’ll want to replace.
2. Open Blogger → Layout → Header Logo Section
Go to: Blogger Dashboard → Layout → Header Logo
From here, you can upload your own logo file.
Depending on your template, this may appear as:
- Header Logo
- Site Header
- Header Widget
- Featured Logo
Click Edit, then upload your new logo image.
3. Upload Your Custom Header Logo
Inside the widget:
- Choose Upload Image
- Select your PNG/JPG logo
- Save the widget
- Refresh your blog to confirm the change
If the logo looks too large or too small, you may need to adjust the image size and upload again.
4. Scroll Down to the Footer Section in Layout
Now go back to the Layout page and find the Footer area.
Depending on the free template, the footer section may be labeled:
- Footer Logo
- Footer Credits
- Copyright Section
- Footer Widget
Click Edit to modify the existing logo or footer text.
5. Upload Your Custom Footer Logo & Edit Footer Text
You can:
- Replace the default footer logo
- Edit footer text (e.g., copyright, brand name, tagline)
- Remove template credits only if the license allows it (many free templates require keeping credits)
Save changes and refresh your blog to confirm that both the top and bottom logos are updated.
6. Verify Your Blog After Logo Change
Visit your blog homepage and scroll from top to bottom to ensure:
- Header logo displays correctly
- Footer logo and footer text match your branding
- No broken images or placeholder text remains
⚠️ Notes
Free Blogger templates vary widely, so:
- The Layout structure may look different
- Logo widgets may appear with different names
- Some templates support image-only, while others support text + image
If you don’t see the exact same menu labels, simply look for similar widget names within the Layout panel.
