Setting up Google Analytics 4 (GA4) correctly is essential for Google AdSense approval, SEO optimization, and accurate traffic tracking.
In this guide, you will learn how to connect your GA4 Measurement ID inside Google Tag Manager (GTM), publish your Google Tag, preview it using Tag Assistant, and finally check realtime data in GA4.
You can follow the 14 screenshots in exact order.
1. Open GTM and Go to Your Container
From the GTM dashboard, go to: Container → Workspace
This is where you will create and manage your tags.
2. Create a New Tag
(Do not choose GA4 Event tag — choose Google Tag.)
3. Select ‘Google Tag’ Under Google Analytics
4. Add Your GA4 Measurement ID
n the Tag ID box, paste your GA4 Measurement ID Format: G-XXXXXXXXXX
Then set the trigger to: Trigger → All Pages
This ensures the tag fires on every page of your blog.
5. Save the Tag and Submit Changes
Click Submit → Enter version name (e.g., “251129”) → Publish.
You should see a confirmation screen showing:
“# versions live”
“Google Tag — Added”
6. Preview Using Tag Assistant
Click Preview in GTM.
Tag Assistant will open.
Enter your blog URL: ✅ https://www.unicosmos.pe.kr/
Then click Connect.
7. Check ‘Connected’ Status in Tag Assistant
If everything is correct, you’ll see:
Tag Assistant Connected
This confirms your GTM container is firing correctly.
8. Verify Realtime Data in GA4
Go to: GA4 → Reports → Realtime
You should see:
- 1 active user (your region only)
- Page title displayed
- Map showing your location
If your blog is new, seeing 1 user is enough to confirm success.
